Meals on Wheels Delivery Program
United Way is very excited to be launching a brand-new volunteering opportunity, beginning March 20th!
We’ll be helping Community Care South Hastings introduce much-needed volunteers to their Meals on Wheels delivery program.
Dedicated volunteers deliver hot meals directly to client homes, on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, between 10:30 am and 12:30pm, each week. Our commitment is twice a week, the third week every month.
- You are required to pick up the meals from the Bayview Mall at the Providence Care entrance that is kitty corner to the Home Hardware building off Bridge St E.
- You will take a red Hot Meal insulated bag with the meal trays inside along with a metal basket with the salad and desserts in brown bags to go with each meal tray.
- You will be provided with a list of clients, their addresses to deliver to, any special instructions, plastic bags to put the meals into when delivering and a sign for the windshield of your vehicle letting people know you are a Meals on Wheels Volunteer Driver.
These are the requirements:
- Experienced driver with valid Ontario Driver’s License
- Safe Driving Record
- Adequate Insurance Coverage
- Clean Criminal/Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Physically able to carry meal trays
- Interest in helping older adults/physically disabled adults
- Compassionate, friendly, reliable, punctual
Days will vary, however, please have a look and let us know a day and time that works best for you.
Please complete the attached forms and send your reply back to this email.
We appreciate your help!!
