United Way Hastings & Prince Edward hits 35% of goal!November 1, 2021
United Way Hastings & Prince Edward is closing in on $700,000 of the $1,950,000 goal announced mid September.
On September 15th United Way HPE launched the 19 week campaign season and organizers are pleased with how the progress is tracking to date. “We are 6 weeks in and tracking very much on par with where we were last year at this time.” said Melanie Cressman, Director of Donor Relations. “We’re encouraged by that—we still have a long way to go and there is definitely a lot of unknown about the community’s capacity to support the campaign, but we are well on our way and we are grateful!”
Dozens of volunteers throughout the region are holding fundraising events and payroll deduction campaigns that support United Way with their employees in their respective workplaces. More than two hundred workplaces and thousands of community donors rally each year in support of their community though the United Way Hastings & Prince Edward campaign. In 2020, between the annual fundraising campaign and the specialized COVID-19 Community Relief Fund over $2.1 million was raised supporting 51 different local organizations “This truly is a community effort,” said Inspector Sheri Meeks of the Belleville Police Service and Volunteer Chair of the 2021 United Way campaign. “there are so many people working together to ensure the success of this campaign and through it, ensuring our community is healthier and stronger.”
In a bid to raise more funds, United Way HPE will launch their second annual virtual auction featuring a little something for everyone. The Local Love Revive and Thrive Virtual Auction event presented by Maple Dale Cheese will run from November 12th – 19th with items ranging from cottage getaways to gift cards, from wine tours to spa packages and from fantastic experiences to pie subscriptions there is truly something for everyone just in time for Christmas shopping https://unitedwayhpe.ca/virtualauction2021/ .
