United Way Hastings & Prince Edward Launches Annual Campaign at Dairy Queen with $2.25 Million Goal

United Way Hastings & Prince Edward  announced an ambitious $2.25M fundraising goal at the launch of the 2024  fundraising campaign.   Held at the locally owned Dairy Queens in both Belleville and Trenton, the organization kicked off its annual fundraising season with “Blizzard Day for United Way”.

Taylor Russett, United Way’s Campaign Chair was one of several Celebrity Servers helping to kick off the event. “I’m proud to support United Way’s efforts and contribute to positive community change. I’m looking forward to the next few months because I believe that, together, we can make a meaningful impact” says Russett.

“This campaign is not just about raising funds; it’s about uniting our community to address pressing needs and create lasting change. We are so excited that Dairy Queen partnered with us in this way,” says Brandi Hodge, Executive Director, United Way Hastings & Prince Edward. “They will be donating $2 from every blizzard to our campaign, so we’re inviting everyone to come and join us on this beautiful day, enjoy some ice cream and support this community we all love.”

“We are launching this campaign with almost $500,000 confirmed, and 19 weeks to raise the balance” says Hodge.  Local Dealerships are doing their part with their initiative, Cars for Community.  This program  started on September 1st with 16 dealerships across HPE registered and committed to donating $10 – $25 per vehicle sold until the end of November. The initiative is celebrating 6 straight years with more than $150,000 in cumulative giving raised since 2019.
