United Way HPE announces 2023 Campaign Chair
August 21, 2023United Way Hastings & Prince Edward is pleased to announce Dan McCullough of Magna Lighting/Autosystems as the 2023 Campaign Chair.
“I am honoured to serve as the 2023 Campaign Chair for our community,” says Dan McCullough, Assistant General Manager, Magna Lighting/Autosystems. “I’ve been a member of the Campaign Cabinet for the last few years and have witnessed, first-hand, the generosity of this community. I’m excited to lead a passionate group of volunteers through the campaign season as we strive to positively impact our community.”
Last year’s campaign, chaired by Hilary Murphy of Taskforce Engineering, raised just over $2.1M; the official goal for the 2023 campaign will be announced at the campaign launch on September 14th, 2023.
“We are so thrilled to welcome many new volunteers to the campaign cabinet team this year,” says Brandi Hodge, Executive Director, United Way Hastings & Prince Edward. “Dan is the perfect person to lead this group to success; he is passionate about making our community a better place for everyone, and we look forward to working together again, this year!”
A graduate of Queen’s University, McCullough has been with Magna Lighting for 12 years and in the Assistant General Manager role for the last seven. He has been involved in the United Way Campaign at Magna for many years. He joined the Campaign Cabinet in 2020, and helped grow Magna’s United Way campaign by 25% during that time. Last February, McCullough was the keynote speaker at United Way’s Campaign Achievement celebration, where he highlighted the importance of strong organizational culture and team engagement in the workplace.
“United Way’s impact on our community is vitally important to our collective health and wellbeing,” says McCullough. “So many families across our region are struggling and that challenge isn’t going away any time soon. We must ensure the social infrastructure is there to support our friends, family and neighbours and supporting United Way is the best way I know how to do that.”
United Way HPE is currently funding 65 programs operating within 42 local organizations.
