United Way Names Youthful Visionary Taylor Russett as its Youngest Campaign Chair, Igniting a New Era of Community Engagement
September 3, 2024United Way Hastings & Prince Edward is excited to announce the appointment of Taylor Russett as the Campaign Chair for the upcoming campaign year. At just 24 years old, Taylor stands as the youngest Campaign Chair in the organization’s history, bringing a vibrant and forward-thinking perspective that aligns perfectly with Untied Way’s vision for a more inclusive and empowered community.
“I am honored to take on the role of Campaign Chair for United Way and to represent the voices of my community,” said Taylor Russett a Stirling native and owner of Lafferty’s Menswear (Downtown Belleville) and The Grind & Vine Coffee Shop (Downtown Trenton). “Together, we can create a future where every individual has the opportunity to succeed and thrive.”
This year’s campaign is all about imagining a stronger community where every individual has what they need and every voice is heard. Taylor’s leadership will be instrumental in shaping a vision that resonates with everyone – his ability to engage with a wide range of supporters, from young professionals to seasoned community members, will help us create a campaign that truly reflects the spirit of inclusivity and progress.
“We are entering the toughest campaign year to date. We need to capitalize on the commitment that our younger generation has for our community and the passion and ideas they are willing to share,” Says Brandi Hodge, Executive Director, United Way Hastings & Prince Edward. “We are confident that under Taylor’s leadership, we will reach new heights and engage more people than ever before in supporting the community that we all call home.”
In 2023 United Way’s campaign supported 46 not for profit, charitable organizations across our region. “The funds raised through the campaign stay local – supporting local people and local organizations” said Hodge. “Families across the community are struggling, in unprecedented ways – it is imperative that the social safety net is strong and available for them. That social safety net comes, in large part, from United Way HPE’. With Russett’s guidance, the organization aims to ensure that essential programs and services have the resources they need to continue to make a positive impact.
The campaign kickoff event is scheduled for September 19, (more details to come].
