2024 Backpacks for Success – Registration Extended!
July 5, 2024United Way Hastings & Prince Edward’s Backpacks for Success program, dedicated to providing essential school supplies to anyone who needs them in our community, is pleased to announce the extension of the closing date for registration.
Due to overwhelming demand and the importance of ensuring that every student in need receives a backpack filled with necessary supplies for the upcoming school year, United Way HPE’s Backpacks for Success has extended the closing date for applications.
“The new closing date for the Backpacks for Success registration has been extended to Friday, July 12. This extension will allow even more students to benefit from this initiative to help ensure they start the school year on the right foot.“ says Kaitlyn Lalonde, Director of Community Impact at United Way Hastings & Prince Edward.
Each backpack is filled with grade appropriate supplies for students from kindergarten to grade 12, including a lunch bag and water bottle. Backpacks are available for purchase at an affordable rate of just $12.00 each, per child, by registering online at www.unitedwayhpe.ca/backpacks (WHILE QUANTITIES LAST) before registration closes on Friday, July 12th. Those unable to register online can contact the United Way Hastings & Prince Edward office at 613-962-9531 to complete their registration over the phone.
Backpacks will be distributed to families during the second week of August in time for the 2024 school year.
