CFB 8 Wing Trenton pushes United Way HPE over $1 million mark!

December 6, 2019

United Way Hastings & Prince Edward has breached the monumental $1 million mark of the campaign; on Friday December 6th, CFB 8 Wing Trenton closed their campaign announcing a total of  almost $96,000, pushing the United Way HPE campaign to just shy of $1.1 million.

With more than half of the total confirmed, the organization has just over $850,000 to go.  “We are tracking nicely. September, October and November we were on the campaign trail kicking off new workplace campaigns, talking to donors and ensuring the community understands the impact of the United Way campaign on our whole community” said, Brandi Hodge, Executive Director  “donors are sending their contributions and workplaces are now reporting their achievements and we are so amazed at the generosity of people in our community” said Hodge.  “We do have a ways to go, and we do need everyone’s help, but as of right now, we are cautiously optimistic that we’ll have a really strong number to report at the end of the campaign.”

Don Williams, Site Manager of Kennametal Stellite, and United Way’s Volunteer Campaign Chair remarked “We don’t take a single dollar for granted—every little bit of money raised in this community will help families and individuals around us receive the supports they need, from assistance with food, housing, transportation and so much more.”  Williams noted ‘this is the first time I’ve been Chair of this campaign, and there is definitely an air of excitement around it, it’s truly been inspiring to see how much people care about other people’.
