2. Job Summary

The Community Impact Coordinator supports the implementation of United Way Hastings & Prince Edward’s (UWHPE) community impact initiatives, partnerships, and programs.

Working under the direction of the Director, Community Impact, the Coordinator helps ensure that strategies, programs, and collaborative activities advance UWHPE’s goals of improving lives and strengthening community systems in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties.

This position plays a key role in fostering relationships with community partners, funded agencies, volunteers, and corporate partners; participating in community roundtables and collaborative networks; and supporting innovation, engagement, and communication across the organization.

3. Key Responsibilities

Community Impact Coordination

  • Support the implementation of strategies and initiatives that advance United Way’s community impact goals.• Participate actively in community roundtables, networks, and collaborative projects to identify needs, share information, and strengthen local partnerships.• Work closely with the Director, Community Impact, to coordinate and track activities, deliverables, and outcomes of funded programs and initiatives.

    • Assist with research, data collection, and reporting to inform decision-making and demonstrate community impact.

Innovation and Best Practices

  • Identify and implement new tools and approaches that strengthen community engagement and agency support.• Support innovation around the resources and supports needed by the community, helping to develop creative solutions and pilot initiatives.• Collaborate with partners and agencies to share ideas, apply best practices, and improve outcomes.

Partner and Agency Relations

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with funded partners through communication, meetings, and events that encourage collaboration and shared learning.• Assist in delivering workshops, training sessions, and learning opportunities for agencies and volunteers.• Support funded agencies in using systems and tools such as ECimpact and outcomes measurement frameworks.

    • Respond to inquiries and provide high-quality service to partners and stakeholders.

Community and Corporate Engagement

  • Promote 211 as a key community resource and ensure awareness among partners and the public.• Support and coordinate Youth Engagement activities, including Youth 2 Youth initiatives and other youth-led projects.• Collaborate with the Fundraising and Donor Relations teams to create and promote corporate engagement opportunities that connect businesses with community impact work.

    • Participate in community events, presentations, and agency tours as a representative of United Way HPE.

Administration and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and organized files, reports, and documentation related to community impact activities.• Track and compile data for evaluation, reporting, and communication purposes.• Support grant application, monitoring, and reporting processes.

    • Contribute to communication materials highlighting community stories and impact.

4. Qualifications

Education

  • College diploma in social services, community development, nonprofit management, or a related field (or a combination of relevant education and experience).

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience working in the nonprofit, social service, or community development sector.• Experience building partnerships, facilitating collaboration, or coordinating community-based programs.• Experience with data management, reporting, and community engagement is an asset.

    • Familiarity with United Way or similar community-based organizations preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse community partners and stakeholders.• Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and problem-solving.

    • Strong organizational and project coordination skills; able to manage multiple priorities.

    • Knowledge of local social issues and community services in Hastings & Prince Edward Counties.

    • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with data and reporting systems (e.g., ECimpact).

    • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.

    • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle required.

  • Permanent full-time position• Level 5 – $50,000 per year• Benefits and RRSP matching program available
