Local Solicitors Donating Their Time and Expertise To Help United Way HPE

More than 50% of Ontarians do not have a will. Are you one of them?

United Way Hastings & Prince Edward’s  annual WILL WEEK. in partnership with local lawyers, is being held October 21st—25th. For one week in October, participating solicitors waive their fee for writing a basic Will. Instead, clients make a donation to United Way HPE.  “This initiative is a unique way to not only support United Way,”, said Brandi Hodge, Executive Director, United Way HPE, “but also to strengthen our community by helping more families be prepared in the case of an unexpected tragic event.”

As a kick off to Will Week, Wilkinson & Company LLP is sponsoring a free information night for the public to attend to learn more about the importance of having a Will and what the ramifications of not having one may be.  The information night provides information about wills and estate planning, featuring representatives from Wilkinson & Company LLP & Freedom 55 Financial, plus a Q&A session with local lawyers.

About Will Week

• Space is limited and spots fill up quite fast.
• Donation payments can be made via credit card over the phone or cash/ cheque dropped-off at the office if necessary.
• Once donation is made a representative from a participating firm will follow-up to schedule an appointment.
• based on a will of average complexity, determined by the firm.
• Once spots are sold-out names will be added to a waiting list.
