More funding for region

The County Foundation awarded additional funding to support all of Hastings Prince Edward

On May 19th, United Way Hastings & Prince Edward and The County Foundation opened their application process for the Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF), funded by the Government of Canada. The fund provides financial support to charities and other qualified donees adapting their frontline services to support vulnerable Canadians during the COVID-19 pandemic. The ECSF was announced by the Government of Canada and is administered in collaboration with United Way Centraide Canada, Community Foundations of Canada and the Canadian Red Cross.

On Friday May 29th, the County Foundation learned they were successful in their bid to secure additional funding from Community Foundations of Canada to serve Hastings County; the additional funding increases The County Foundation’s available resources to $293,000 – up from the originally allocated amount of $75,000. In addition to The County Foundation’s allocation, United Way Hastings & Prince Edward will allocate $450,000.

Agencies are being asked to not apply to both United Way HPE and The County Foundation for the same program or service. However, they can apply to each organization for a different program or service to meet the increase or change in needs due to COVID-19. Application information will be shared between these two organizations for funding decision purposes. Funded by the Government of Canada.
