United Way Hastings & Prince Edward Campaign Totals Climb
October 21, 2019United Way Hastings & Prince Edward has breached the half million dollar mark with $507,000 reported toward the campaign goal. This represents 26% of the organization’s goal of $1.95 million. “We are thrilled with where we are to date” said, Brandi Hodge, Executive Director “we still have a long way to go to reach our campaign goal but we are well on our way.” Dozens of volunteers throughout the region are holding events and payroll deduction campaigns for employees in their respective workplaces. “This truly is a community effort—neighbours helping neighbours” said Hodge.
More than two hundred workplaces and thousands of community donors rally each year in support of their community though the United Way Hastings & Prince Edward campaign. In 2018, total donations amounted to more than $1.88 million, and assisted the organization in providing financial support to 65 local programs and initiatives throughout Hastings & Prince Edward Counties.
Don Williams, Site Manager of Kennametal Stellite, and United Way’s Volunteer Campaign Chair remarked “The campaign cabinet has been connecting with the community in a variety of ways to encourage the support of the campaign—and the community is responding.” Kennametal Stellite, which raised over $11,000 last year, will launch their employee campaign on October 28th. “The United Way campaign provides a great opportunity for our employees to contribute in a meaningful way to the betterment of their community – we’re looking forward to launching our campaign again this year.”
