United Way Hastings & Prince Edward Launches 2022 Fundraising Campaign
September 14, 2022United Way Hastings & Prince Edward officially launched the 2022 fall fundraising campaign by announcing a goal of $2,000,000 at a lunchtime BBQ held at the Maurice Rollins Centre on Harriett St.
Hilary Murphy, Director of Business Development at TaskForce Engineering was introduced as this years Campaign Cabinet Chair. Hilary has been involved in the United Way HPE Campaign for several years as both a Cabinet member and member of Women United™. “I accepted the position of campaign chair because I know that the services that United Way funded agencies provide to the community are needed and more important than ever before. This is the community that helps to shape and mould my children and their view of people and the world. It is incredibly important that we lead by example with kindness and empathy towards others, as the next generation is watching” she said.
“We have an incredible team of volunteer cabinet members to help raise as much as possible” said Brandi Hodge, Executive Director, United Way HPE, “with the ever-increasing cost-of-living, more and more people are finding themselves in need of a hand up. Our whole team—the Campaign Cabinet, staff, board of directors, volunteers and donors are committed to doing all we can to make it a little easier for people to succeed.”

Guests heard stories of impact from Shawn Quigley, Executive Director of Youth Diversion Program; illustrating the importance of investments in youth and the impact that donor dollars are having on people across our whole community.
United Way Hastings & Prince Edward was thrilled to announced that the Maurice & Marilyn Rollins Foundation leadership challenge is celebrating 15 years of matching leadership level gifts; leveraging over $3.5 million in giving to the United Way HPE campaign since its inception in 2008. The program will continue to encourage new and increased friend & leadership level giving in 2022.
The 2022 campaign launches with $481,528 committed; almost 25% of the overall total with 19 weeks to go. The overall total raised will be announced in February.
