Jamie's Story
Jamie had been struggling at school and her mother often found her crying. Finally, Jamie admitted that she was being bullied at school and online. Jamie’s mom connected her to a local mentoring program that provided supports, guidance, and an understanding mentor to talk to. Through regular interactions with her mentor, Jamie now feels that she is better able to handle the school bullies and can better focus on her schoolwork.

United Way Hastings & Prince Edward believes that children are the future of our community. Every young person matters. Each and every one of them deserves a chance to succeed in school & every opportunity to succeed in life. The local agency that supports young people like Jamie, provides services that support the development of integrated youth mental health, health, education, employment and addiction services. Young people aged 12-25 years can receive access to integrated “one-stop-shop” of supports.
